Michael Bay?!? Some interesting rumors regarding the reboot of the franchise…
Entertainment Weekly has some interesting news on the Spider-Man franchise and planned reboot. Interestingly enough, Sony was working on both Raimi's Spider-Man 4 and the new origin story from James Vanderbilt. The original plan was to keep the Spider-Man gang together for one last film in 2011 before rebooting the series in 2012. But when scheduling and creative differences with Rami happened, the studio opted for the reboot.
As for the reboot of the franchise, Peter Parker will be placed in a more contemporary setting, as a teenager battling today's issues. The big question now is who will take over the franchise. Marc Webb, the man behind (500) Day of Summer is one name that has popped up along with Seabiscuit director Gary Ross. Finally, Michael Bay has previously expressed interest in taking over the Spider-Man franchise.
What do you want to see from the rebooted franchise and who do you think should take it over?
